A Message by Chairperson , Prof. Aziz Ur Rehman

I feel honoured to be the chairman of the National Data Safety & Monitoring Board which oversees the safety of the patients while on investigational drugs during trials. Currently there is no proven effective and safe drug for the COVID-19 patients that is so rampant all over the world. Several multicenter trials are underway to examine the efficacy and safety of many potential drugs. Our job is to analyse the data periodically & confidentiality to pick up any possible harm of any drug and to alert the investigators to take necessary action. I am pleased to say that so far we have not found any major adverse side effect of any of the study drugs.
